Yes, I did saw this kind dancer on the road while in yangon and mistaken them for gay dancer as they never sing, just dance. I think she have many competitors as I also saw the group of chidren carry a guitar carolling around business premise during christmas, then come chinese new year. The same pattern come again with the little children carry a lion head trying to do lion dance to collect some angpow. Life as dancers is never easy with so many children group singing and dancing on the street. The most beautiful one I seen is the one dancing near the hospital in her traditional myanmar dress on the street. Sorry, I did not bring along my camera then.

I found this page by chance. Great article. Naturally, I was saddaned by the story. But well done to the lady - Daw May Hninsi - for her courage (as stated in the article, it is indeed difficult to do what she does in the streets of Burma). And I hope that her life gets better somehow and her dreams fulfilled. Cheers...

This is a very good story. I feel so sympathy for her and her life. Good that you have caught this amazing story about Burmese lady. Well written too. I have seen so many hardship about Burmese girls but I can't describe it like you did here. I wish I could write a very descriptive story to promote about Burmese education and women right. Thanks for sharing.
